Expectations
Activity - Staff must be active to help keep the site running, as well as set a good example for the other members. Here, 'active' means that you can get on at least three times a week, preferably more. If you know you can't get on, you MUST post an away message like everyone else does; there will be no exceptions for a staff member who doesn't post in an Activity Check unless they have done so.
Rules - Not only will staff have to adhere to the rules--being a staff doesn't mean you will be excused for rule breaking--you will also have to help enforce it. If you see some members arguing, do your best to stop it. If you see someone godmodding or powerplaying in a thread, post a warning or PM them. Staff should help, not cause more problems. However, for severe cases, it would be better to notify the administrator of the problem so an appropriate punishment can be dealt to the member.
Guests - It's also part of your duty to do your best to make a guest in the cbox feel comfortable. Answer their questions, that kind of stuff. Don't push them away.
Power Abuse - Do not abuse your powers. So if you delete threads for no reason or locking every thread you see, there will be trouble. Editing people's posts is also unacceptable unless you're updating an announcement. Using your staff position to boss around members is also a no-no. Any wrongful use of powers will lead to a warning and possibly demotion if it's severe.
Duties
Board Management - In other words, it is part of a mod's job to keep the boards clean and uncluttered. Move old threads or threads that have ended to the appropriate archive board. Lock threads that need moderating. Delete threads or move threads that are not in the right places(for example, if a guest advertised in an RP board, delete it).
Advertise - This is straightforward enough. Using the ad of your choice, you are too help advertise on sites that have not been advertised on yet, so be careful no one else has posted there before you. Double-posting ads tend to make the staff on those sites annoyed.
Affiliate Checking - Every once in awhile, a mod must go through all the affiliates we have. Check if that site has our affiliate up on theirs, or if the site has died, or even stole something from out site. Afterward, you are to PM one of the admin A)the sites which do not have our affiliate B)sites that died C)sites that stole content D)has our affiliate in a place different from their affiliate's place on this site. (Static affiliates should have us as static, scrolling should be scrolling there, etc.) Just keep in mind that sometimes that site may not have put up our affiliate yet because the request had only just been posted, so check. Also, you are not to affiliate yourselves.
Bio Acceptation - As a staff, you must also help with checking bios. If a WIP bio hasn't been finished in more than a week, move it to The Closet. If the bio IS done, read through it and see if it fulfills all the requirements. There has to be enough sentences in the different parts, and should be realistic. If a cat has glittering fur or pink eyes and three tails, ask the member to fix it. Ages must also be appropriate, as should the history and personality. Offer pointers, and help correct grammatical mistakes--just don't go in and modify the post yourself. If the bio is good, then accept it and move it to the right accepted board.
