Actions//Thoughts//Speaking
Thump, thump, thump, a tail thumped against a rock in a rhythmic pattern. Green eyes followed figures coming into a clearing from a hunting patrol. 'Where is she?' Thoughts ran though his head as he got to his paws, they held his weight and landed on a dusty ground. His body stretched out as he moved his muscles before standing and walking toward a she-cat who'd been in the party of cats.
As she dropped a poor looking rabbit into the fresh-kill pile. "Have you seen Shimmerstrike?" His voice was very deep and stunning yet quiet as he talked to the she-cat. Her blue eyes looked up at the tom, meeting his gaze and moving her head in a swift gesture that meant a simple no. The tom huffed and put a paw out to grab the rabbit that just fell from the she-cats jaw. "You know kits and elders eat first." Feralclaw's eyes turned soft and he half smiled at the she-cat "Well maybe I'm going to share with an elder.. or you." She only sighed and turned, walking away. He grabbed the dead critter in his mouth and took off toward the warrior's den.
Feralclaw knew almost every-cat and knew things about them. Talked to them, been there for one of their conversations or went on a patrol with them. Though this she-cat seemed to do her best to avoid him or something. He barely saw the she-cat and when he did she was always going the opposite way of him. It was time he'd get to know her plus he had to do something. Windclan wasn't doing the best. Greencough was horrible, he was just lucky enough to be one of the few not to catch it. He had been out hunting and doing patrols for the last two days. It was his turn to take a break.
His black paws hit the ground quietly as he entered the warrior's den. Glancing around for any sign of the she-cat. Her tabby coat was easily spotted and she was the only cat in the den. Then again, it was mid afternoon. She must have had an early morning, unlike Feralclaw who usually got up after everyone else. He padded into the den and laid close to her. Letting the rabbit fall out of his jaw with a loud thud. Smiling he wondered if she was awake or would wake up. He made himself comfortable and took a small bite of the rabbit in front of him. The smell and taste of the fresh prey filling his mouth. She for sure had to be able to smell the delicious meat. What cat wouldn't wake up to the smell of food?

Shimmerstrike
[/center]
Shimmerstrike was dreaming pleasant things, like hunting and finding a strong fit male that was waiting for her return from the hunt. Her long sleek coat glimmered in the early morning light. She had been out on every hunting patrol she could go on recently, and had been so tired that she had nearly collapsed off her paws. Hunting was her speciality and one of the few things she prided herself at being good at. Her mentors always tried there best to teach her otherwise, but she wouldn't go for it once her first mentor died.
She flicked her ears at the sound of a returned patrol, and shifted her paws over her eyes, snuggling down in her nest more to keep out the light and the noise. Though she knew it was inevitable that she would have to rise again. With so many getting sick, she needed to stay fit, and being able to sleep had done wonders for the bags under her eyes. She hadn't spoken much to anyone recently, and even on patrols she was quiet. Not that it wasn't normal because she was always a small voiced shy cat, but it was beginning to get noticible.
Suddently she felt something press next to her, and being in the warriors den it had to be another clan member. She found it odd though that a cat would deliberately sit that close to her, not many in the clan were as comfy with her, and she was certainatly not outgoing with them. The sound of something large hitting the ground had her sniffing the air in curiosity. That's definatly a fresh caught rabbit.... but which cat has brought there prey into the warrior's den? Stretching her eye open, she looked first at the dead rabbit in front of her face. Its immediate proximity to her eyes had her jutting her head up with a start. Quickly bending her neck to lick her chest, while she lay in her nest still, she calmed herself irritated that she had jumped so bad after already smelling it. Her green eyes took in the equally green eyes and black body of Feralclaw sitting unmistakably next to her. A quick glance around the den revealed there to be no others present, and she suddenly felt very shy and self conscious.
She didn't know why he was there with the rabbit right next to her, and she certainatly thought he was confused and thought she was someone else. She knew too well of Feralclaw. Maybe she had never really talked to him, but that was because he was a known flirt, and trouble with a capital T. Still he had her curious if nothing else, and even if she wasn't talking that much, her stomach helped with a sudden rumble. Her ears fell flat to her head and her face went hot with embarrassment, and she looked quickly down as if she had offended him. Her quiet almost too quiet voice chirped out." Sorry.... um... s.. s.. I shou... Shall leave you in peace to finish that." She was definalty not in her element.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Feralclaw chewed on the tough meat of the rabbit. His eyes half watching for a reaction from the she-cat next to him. She was very pretty but in the darkness of the warriors den it was hard to see her true colors. His eyes had adjusted to the dark room and he could see her tabby pelt just fine but he knew how she looked in the sun. All cats tended to look better with the sun shinning off their pelts, unless of course their pelts were gross and dirty. Feralclaw hated that, cats who didn't keep themselves clean. Shadowclan cats tended to be more dirty. Then again they lived in a darker land and it was probably more muddy there. Feralclaw kept himself clean, his black pelt was always shiny.
Feralclaw startled slightly by the she-cat next to him jumping up quickly. He wasn't expecting that but her jump was much more noticeable then his. He chucked softly at her reaction. He did place the rabbit right in her face, so it was mostly his fault. Though how else was he suppose to wake the cat? He smiled and took another bite of it as she licked her chest, looking over at the tom. She looked more scared then anything else. Did she even know who he was? Feralclaw glanced over to her and shot her one of his famous smiles. It was more of a half smile but it was pretty cute and made him look handsome. Of course he practiced it in streams. Plus the she-cats who almost fainted when he walked by loved his half smile.
He chuckled again and went back to the rabbit, watching the she-cat in the corner of his green eyes. She looked confused all the sudden and he wasn't sure if she wanted to say something or was waiting for him. Usally he was first to speak up but this time he thought she'd do better at talking first. Let the questions flow from her mind, or whatever she-cats thought about then a handsome tom was next to them.
Her stomach rumbled loudly. Feralclaw glanced over, ready to offer his meal. She looked really annoyed, whether from him or from her stomach giving away her weakness for the wonderful smelling rabbit that filled the whole den. "Sorry.... um... s.. s.. I shou... Shall leave you in peace to finish that." Her voice was sweet and soft but defiantly not strong. "Oh I thought you'd want some." Okay so maybe the offer wasn't totally towards the rabbit. He smiled and chuckled. "After all, I don't want you to waste your energy when a strong warrior like yourself needs to help out her weakened clan. So you should have some of this. He pushed the rabbit towards her more.
"I'm Feralclaw by the way but you can call me handso- I mean Feral." He winked at her and chuckled a bit by his own joke.

Shimmerstrike
[/center]
Shimmerstrike scowled inwardly once her pathetically quiet voice rang out. She figured it would discourage the tom all together since he always went for the cats that practically chanted there names while flinging themselves on him. In fact she wondered why he wasn't with some other cat, surely there were plenty more. Maybe he needed to get away from all that.... then again he had never minded it before now, so she doubted that was it. Then something caught her attention, he was laughing at her reaction. Great now im the source of his entertainment... Not that she blamed him, she was way too jumpy for her own good whether the reflexes were nessecary in the warrior lifestyle or not, there was a limit to how much one should jump and she hadn't found it yet.
Her stomach rumbled its irratation at her avoiding the rabbit right in front of her, but she was very aware that she could easily go and find her own food. In fact that would take her out of the awkward situation that Feralclaw was causing, well in all reality she was the one being awkward. She was surprised that he had only chuckled and not carried on, that was certainalty knew to her. Instead he widened half his face into a really odd sort of grin. It really made most of his sharp fangs stick out on just one side of him, and it struck her as really odd. Was this some sort of smile? She lifted her brow in confusion and slightly tilted her head as if in awe of sorts, for this was a new expression and since she wasn't very social he looked like he was trying to curl his lip over his eyeball. Then he confirmed her fears by saying that he was offering her some of his prey. Her heart leapt into her throat in shock, he had to be kidding her there was no way another warrior wasn't around for him to share with better than her.
Then it got really weird, he started calling her a strong warrior, and was saying that she needed to eat and stay fit enough to help the clan. She looked down at herself, none of her bones were showing, was he implying she was too skinny? The rabbit edged towards her more, if that was even possible, and he introduced himself to her. Suddenly she was angered, did he not think that she knew who he was? Just because she was quiet and out of the way most of the time, didn't mean she didn't pay attention to the clan. Besides he was hard not to notice, he was so handsome... No stop.... no you can't start thinking about him like that. Not like one of those fleety she cats that are all over him. He is just another clanmate and not interested in you. He flirts with them not me.
She was completly oblivious to the wink, and his display of charm. She looked at him blankly and then mumbled a half hearted."Yea, I know who you are..." She finally caved and bent her head forward to taste the rabbit. Its texture was nice and fresh and she hungrily ate it, not knowing that she was that famished until she had bit into it. Remembering her manners she lifted her head, her eyes wide in panic at forgetting." Thank you for the rabbit... I suppose I sh ... should hunt for you later and make up for it." That was a genuine offer though it wasn't because she was interested in him openly or anything, it was mainly because she felt bad about eatting his rabbit.

Feralclaw smiled at her sweetly. Either she'd completely blow him off and leave or she'd stay and eat with him. He had tons of she-cats after him after all so what was one less? Yet, for some reason the thought of a she-cat not all over him made him annoyed. Everyone loved him, he was a great warrior and a great cat. He respected his clan mates and hunted for them. Any other clan would be jealous that Windclan has such a grand tom. Yet he could never have the responsibility of being a leader. That life style wasn't for him. He was the type of cat who just liked having fun and messing around.
Well back to the main point, he is always getting distracted by himself. Feralclaw looked at the she-cat in front of him, waiting for a response. Even if it wasn't one he wanted. She looked over at him with no emotions and mumbled something about knowing who he was. Well of course she knew who he was. "Well of course you know who I am, it's rude not to introduce myself though. After all I don't think I've ever had the pleasure of speaking with you before." He smiled at her again and was happy to see her take a bite of the rabbit. After all, it soon would be cold.
He took another bite, eating the poor thing along with her. After all it needed to be finished. When the rabbit was close to gone, the she-cat looked up at him. She looked startled and Feralclaw wasn't sure why. He wasn't sure to these types of cats. It was like an all new playing field. It was interesting and fun, he liked new things. "Thank you for the rabbit... I suppose I sh ... should hunt for you later and make up for it." She said. Feralclaw laughed and turned to the she-cat. "Oh don't be silly, hunny. It is as much your as it is mine. After all I just grabbed it off the fresh kill pile this morning. I saw you and thought you'd be hungry. He show her another half smile. "Maybe we could go hunting together." He'd get to show off his skills then.

_____________________ This was not something she was used to, and that was putting it mildly, not only was he giving her food, but Feralclaw was sitting down to eat with her. She flicked her ear to tell him she was paying attention to his talking to not seem rude, but didn't want to make eye contact. She was doing her very best actually to avoid eye contact, for everytime she would be threatened with searching out his eyes, and that was not good. Just focusing on the rabbit was really no huge feat, because she was so hungry. She new it wouldn't last, and sadly it was diminishing from the bone rather quickly. She stopped eating like a badger and went to nibbling on it still feeling remorseful about eating his rabbit.
He put and end to that by explaining that first off he was only introducing himself to be polite, and that he had not caught the rabbit, but had sought her out to share it anyway. Both made her think that maybe he was trying to figure her out, but she quickly put it out of her mind. It was true though, he had not spoken to her before, choosing to chase after other more... boisterous she cats in the clan down for his talks and meals. It made her feel rather annoyed that she had been put off for so long on his list it seemed, though she had been trying her hardest to avoid it altogether. Settling on something that would make sense to say to his calling her out about not speaking, she voiced it quietly of course. " I've not spoken to anyone much, and they have not sought me out either."
It didn't make her heart ache in self pity, because she never really cared much about it. She was a good hunter, and provided for the clan, they could talk to her or ignore her, but she would still carry on with her duties. Then he called her hunny, and his mentioning that the rabbit was not his, came back to her. Well then she had no reason to feel guilty, after all it was just freshkill nothing bad or suspicious about it since it wasn't caught for her, just offered to her. His next statement caught her off guard, true she had said she would go hunting, but she didn't expect him to want to go with her. She had been resigned to replace the rabbit, but he seemed to want her company. She considered him a birdbrain for wanting to, but it kind of seemed nice in a way. Know she wouldn't make the deputy chase down cats to go hunting with her, she would go out with him. " I'm grateful for the offer of you going with me Feralclaw. Not many willingly volunteer, its a refreshing change." She didn't mention the embarrassment that crept into her skin every time she had to wait for others to volunteer in public. Maybe she was a tad over judgmental about him, and he was a nice tom. " Where would you like to hunt, and when?" She was leaving the decision up to him, since he was offering to go in the first place. She was ok with it being on his terms, she could hunt anywhere.

Feralclaw smiled over at the she-cat. He had never really been this close to her, and now that he was he could see all her features so much better. The sun shown off her green eyes, making sparkles on the wall around them. He wondered if his eyes did the same when he was out in the sun. He always liked looking at the green orbs in puddles of water or in streams. He liked the color they made and they matched grass so well. Her eyes, however made her fur pop out. Made the browns and grays and blacks stand out from each other. Each fur on her body seemed like a different shade of color but mixed together in a pattern that made her the great hunter she was. Prey had a hard time picking out the strands of multicolored fur and placing them together as one blob of stuff. Not noticing as well the danger that hung over their heads.
He had asked her to hunt with him. He didn't know if he was really expecting the yes that came from her response. It was wonderful to know that the she-cat was glad to have him as a hunting partner. It was just easier for him if the she-cats just accept his offerings. Though sometimes the chase is just the fun part of it. This she-cat, she made him feel different. Even if he wasn't going to ever admit it, it was true she was different then other she-cats. She didn't gush over him or anything, and that was what made him interested in her in the first place. Yet, maybe her personality and little flaws will make her just.. well great.
"Where would you like to hunt, and when?" Her voice rang out. His thoughts ran through his mind quickly. When would be a good place to hunt, and where? Hmm.. he wasn't great with setting up date but then again hes the one who invited her along. "Hmm.. what about rabbit hill? Not many cats go up there lately, they've mostly been hunting the moorland. I'm sure it will be packed full with rabbits when we get up there!" He smiled, a huge smile. He loved the thought of climbing up and over the hill and seeing all the dotted holes, and with that rabbits.. everywhere!
(What if they went to rabbit hill and there was almost no rabbits and a fox was up there living in one of the holes? Feral could be all nosely and smell it and then fall into the hole and get attacked. While She'd have to save him.)

_____________________ Silence greeted her once her acceptance of his hunting trip was acknowledged by her tiny voice. It was surprising to her that Feralclaw seemed intent on sticking with her, at least for the time being. Frankly she was a bit unnerved, maybe even scared. He was a devoted and strong warrior that contributed to the clan far more then she could because he was unafraid to enter battles with other clans, she was not. Still she felt that she owed him for the honesty of his approaching her, to at least go hunting with him and gave him her company. With her small voice and subtleties she wasn't sure how much company she would be to him, but she would try and be a good friend. The warrior code dictated that being true to the clan came first, and Feralclaw was part of her clan, so hunting with him couldn't hurt her right? She feared that the knots in her belly would only intensify with the looks he gave to her, though she was sure he wasn't doing anything unusual with his luminous green eyes that seemed to easily sear into her own.
Snapping out of her daze she realized that was what she had been doing, was daydreaming of his eyes of all things. She blushed sheepishly noticing that he was speaking about where they should hunt. Come on Shimmerstrike get it together your acting like you have bees for brains. Her fur had slightly frizzed out but, her attention brought it back lying flat again. She actually smiled at his hunting choices, not realy wanting to admit how impressed she was with his accuracy of how good the hunting there was likely to be. It would have been her choice as well. Her eyes showed admiration, but her body still spoke of shyness, as she stood backing up ever so slightly as to not nudge him. Bird like as ever, she spoke up quietly." Well then let's get going shall we."
Without another word she dashed out of the den to wait by the entrance silently praying that another cat would join them to help relieve her awkwardness. With her track record though that was unlikely to happen. Her eyes were anxious, but at least once they got moving she could make them focus on things other then the black tom's handsome green ones.

It was nice to see the she-cat finally warm up to him and accept his request of going hunting. After all, he did need something to do today. Why not a little showing off to a pretty she-cat? Oh wait, he did that everyday. He smiled to himself and watched her. She seemed slightly distracted and he could almost see her clear her thoughts from her mind as he spoke. He always seemed to have this bubble that once she-cats were in it he was the one who had to shove them out. He had quite a few she-cats that were a little unnerving that he shoved out very quickly. Shimmerstike was different, she tried to hid that she was falling into his bubble. Maybe it was just because she was shy or maybe she did not realize that she was doing it herself. Feralclaw couldn't be sure. He didn't understand female that greatly.
"Well then let's get going shall we."Shimmer's bird like voice chirped. Feralclaw nodded and smiled. Yet he didn't expect her to take off out of the den towards the exit that quickly. She was smaller then him, and so a lot faster. He grinned and dug his claws into the earth beneath his paws. Pushing himself forward and out of the den. Following the fluff of Shimmerstrike's pelt. It was very nice out and the sun shown off his black pelt. Making him very warm, yet he liked the feeling and enjoyed the warmth the sun gave him.
When he reached the exit.. or entrance of the camp, it all depends on how you look at it, Feralclaw stopped by the she-cat. Her pelt also changed in the sun. The separate colors showed brighter and he could pick out the separate strands. Her eyes showed more specks of green and reflected the suns color. He smiled softly at her. His chest rising and falling faster from his short sprint."Wow you are fast. I bet you can't beat me to the rabbit-hill though!" He flashed her a grin and again took off running.
He knew the way with his eyes closed. Being a the clan for so long he knew all the places around it. Plus he was very adventurous in this younger years. He loved the feel of running over the land and it felt good to have a reason to run. Glancing behind him he didn't see the she-cat but he could tell she wouldn't be far behind. Who could turn how a good race? He was bigger then her, yet stronger. She was defiantly faster. So he had to think of some way to win. His head-start helped him some and he was running full speed. Yet would it be enough?

_____________________ The sun shone beautifully today, and she was surprised at how much nicer and warmer it was compared to her hunt earlier in the morning. It made her realize just how long she had passed out for. It bothered her that she had slept for so long, since it wasn't like her at all. Maybe she had been running around more frantically then usual, then again the clan did need all the able bodied help it could get. Though it was possible she was taking it too far. Feralclaw was an unexpected occurance to say the least, though she was having trouble finding anything wrong with that. In fact she was glad for the company, it was proving to be very refreshing to her often self imposed solitude. Shimmerstrike was worried that the hunt wouldn't go as planned, and to some extent she was right as Feralclaw took all conventionality out of it when he charged up to her and smiled before challenging her to a race and dashing out of the camp.
Now if she had looked anymore confused by his actions she would be surprised. It had been quite some time since she had purposefully ran for fun. In fact most of the time it was just after prey. Oddly she started to smile, an expression that she used more in his presence today then in her whole life it seemed. Perking up, she did dash after him, and he had a good start on her even if she was faster. Shimmerstrike hadn't missed his compliment on her speed, and had blushed from it, though she hoped he hadn't noticed. She was unsure of whether she should best him or not though. In truth she had never played in this way before, her mentors had kept her too busy for that much free time to effect her habits. Maybe she was missing out, since Feralclaw was an exceptional warrior, and he was still doing these things.
Considering she knew where they were going, she guessed that she was supposed to try and beat him there. At least she hoped that it was what he had in mind. Little time was left to ponder that though since she had run quick enough to be behind him a few paces and was still gaining. The though of meeting his eyes again gave her visions of how her feet would catch and she would trip from there holding power over her. A trick she was sure he had mastered purposefully. Instead she looked straight ahead and didn't turn to indulge in glancing at him. Most would have snickered or good heartedly grinned at in such cases, she instead pushed her paws more firmly into the ground and went ahead of him to avoid his eyes. She liked his company, she had decided, but she was not sure about how unnerved she could get around him. She reached an outcrop not far from where they would hunt and thought it best to stop there instead of charging straight to where they were to hunt. It was never a good thing to run in blindly after all. She wondered if he would be hurt at the end of his game, since he was the one who started it. Would he be mad he hadn't arrived first? This was sort of new to her after all.
