PERSONALITY!
Being a leader is a huge responsibility, but Rushingstar carries it well. She follows the warrior code and tries to instill it into her clan as well. She will discipline a cat when needed, and does not take lightly to traitors. Though she is not an extremely strict cat, she can give orders in a swift manner and the clan will quickly understand what needs to be done. They know when she is in business mode and no longer ready to play around. She’ll crack down and be serious when the time calls. With all matters of the clan duties she has agreed to take on, she knows it’s not a joke and takes pride in serving Starclan in this way. She enjoys leading apprentice and warrior ceremonies and will become very excited when one is on the way. When meeting at Gatherings she is very reserved and respectful, to all of the leaders, deputies, and other cats. She knows it is not her place to disrespect the other clans at this sacred time or at any other time really. This is another thing she tries to teach her clan, even if some don’t necessarily agree.
doesn’t seem as if many of them are intimidated by her high status. They enjoy chatting and joking around with her. And she isn’t one to go hide in her den very often. She’s sociable with her clan, sharing tongues with many of them. When a liter of kits is born, Rushingstar loves to interact with both the mother and kits, happy to have more members joining the world of Thunderclan. She works closely with the mentors of the apprentices as well. Sometimes she even enjoys roughhousing with them. It is her goal to provide every member of Thunderclan with a content and safe life. Thunderclan is her pride and joy and it is obvious to many.
HISTORY!
Rushingstar was born Rushingkit in a warm Newleaf. She came a little earlier than expected, which is where her name comes from. Her mother, Springbelly, and her father, Adderfoot, were excited to meet their first litter. There were three kits all together. Rushingkit was born first, then Thornkit, and finally Honeykit. Both parents were so happy to have three healthy kits. They showered them with love and affection, teaching them the true ways of the warrior code. Rushingpaw went through her apprenticeships with ease, learning to fight and hunt quickly. Her mentor was impressed by the way Rushingpaw was developing. In the meantime, her sister and brother were also doing well with their training. Life was pretty normal at this point.
Then on a terribly stormy night, just a few days before Rushingkit and her siblings were to become warriors, a small group of rouges attacked a patrol. The deputy of Thunderclan at the time, Breezefoot, was killed in the battle, but that wasn’t the only causality. Adderfoot’s sister, Willowsky, was also killed. The clan held the proper vigil for the deceased and then it was time to name a new deputy. The leader of Thunderclan trusted Adderfoot with his life, and therefor chose him as the new deputy. He knew that this warrior would become a great leader to Thunderclan when the time was right. Rushingkit’s family was overcome with emotion of losing their beloved Willowsky, but by also the honor of having Adderfoot as their new deputy and possible future leader. In remembrance of the fallen deputy and his sister, Adderfoot requested that his kits’ warrior names honor both of them. A few days later, the warrior ceremony was conducted. Rushingpaw became Rushingbreeze, Thornpaw became Thornsky, and Honeypaw became Honeywillow.
Rushingbreeze was actively involved with the clan business, often found spending time with her father. In a way she was learning the trade of being deputy. She would offer insight and ideas, some of which Adderfoot would actually take to the leader. After a few moons, Rushingbreeze received the honor of mentoring her first apprentice, Robinpaw. She was extremely excited to work with the young cat who had plenty of energy. If she had any questions, Rushingbreeze looked to her father for guidance. Both Adderfoot and Thunderclan’s leader were extremely impressed with how well trained Robinpaw was. After the proper amount of time Robinpaw received her warrior name and Rushingbreeze was quickly assigned another apprentice, Briarpaw.
Around the same time Rushingbreeze began mentoring Robinpaw, it was also discovered that Springbelly was once again pregnant. And once again, Springbelly and Adderfoot were excited, but things didn’t go so well this time. The birth left one kit dead and one kit barely holding on to life. It also left Springbelly weak and heartbroken. Adderfoot tried his hardest to comfort his mate, but it was a lost cause. She was physically and mentally broken. The surviving kit, Berrykit, began to grow stronger with each day that passed. Rushingbreeze loved to visit and play with her tiny sister. She was still occupied with training her second apprentice, which kept her mind from hurting too much about her fading mother. When Berrykit was old enough, she was appointed Berrypaw. She would ask Rushingbreeze to help her with her training, even though she had another mentor. Of course, Rushingbreeze was eager to help her sister succeed.
Eventually, Rushingbreeze’s apprentice, Briarpaw earned his warrior name. The leader noticed how respectful both of Rushingbreeze’s apprentices had become. It wasn’t until after the passing of her mother that Rushingbreeze would accept mentoring any other apprentices. During the time after Springbelly passed, Rushingbreeze became a little more protective of all of her siblings. She
noticed that her father wasn’t his usual self. The death struck her family pretty hard. Adderfoot continued to fulfill his duties as deputy and kept his business separate from his personal life as much as he could.
Moons passed and Rushingbreeze mentored her last apprentice, Crimsonpaw. He was a stubborn, defiant apprentice that did not like to take direction from Rushingbreeze. One evening there was a group mentoring session. Crimsonpaw decided to sneak away and he found a badger’s hole. The warriors hearing his screeching, quickly took action. Adderfoot and two other warriors took off in
the direction of where Crimsonpaw was. Rushingbreeze, being one of the fastest had to run back to camp with the other apprentices in order to keep them safe and warrior the clan. When the leader was informed, he prepared the clan as Rushingbreeze ran back into the forest to help her father and clanmates.
When she finally reached them, the scene that was before her (which should have brought forward so many emotions) just left her calm. The two warriors who assisted her father were a little scratched and bloodied. They were moving to check the den for the badger’s offspring. Crimsonpaw’s body was under her father’s. Adderfoot had died protecting her apprentice. She quickly went to her father and pulled him off of Crimsonpaw. Surprisingly the apprentice was still
alive. As much as it hurt to leave her father, she had to help her apprentice. Rushingbreeze told the two warriors to take care of the badger’s body and carefully bring back her father’s, while she carried Crimsonpaw back to the camp. Surprisingly he survived the attack. As sad as Rushingbreeze was to lose her father, she knew he was doing his job and she was proud to be his daughter.
When the leader learned of Adderfoot’s heroic death, the vigil was set to take place and he had to choose a new deputy for his clan. Already aged, with only a few of his lives left, he took a chance and selected Rushingbreeze to take her father’s place. Many of the clan members were surprised by this choice. There were plenty of senior warriors that could’ve easily taken on the role of deputy. At the same time, most of the senior warriors agreed with the choice and respected the leader’s decision. They knew that Rushingbreeze would be good at the job. She did afterall have the training of Adderfoot himself. The same values and attitude that Adderfoot held were instilled into his daughter. A few moons passed and Rushingbreeze quickly fell into the role, taking on more responsibility as the leader grew weak with old age and illness. A few more moons passed and it was time for the leader to join Starclan. Rushingbreeze was ready to take on the full responsibility of Thunderclan leader. She continues to prove how much she has learned and how much she cares for her clan. Rushingstar became leader and chose a deputy who she trusts and confides in. She is still close with her siblings and often thinks of her parents. She has yet to meet a mate, but she would like to become a mother someday. Right now her main concern is caring for the members of
Thunderclan.
