The night had been chilly and morbid. The dew that came with the morning now clung tightly to the ground in neat little specks of water. It now thoroughly covered the drenched form of the Riverclan leader. Birds waking with the early dawn rays could be heard clearly, there chattering, driving him to move about, disrupting the water layed out on his form so neatly. He wondered at what the background noise he was hearing was, and turned his ears to the sounds of the Twolegs waking. Shifting so he was looking through the reeds, he watched them from afar.
The undergrowth of tall grasses surrounding the edges of the lake, and the distance between the Twoleg place made it easier for Riverclanners to keep in cover while the upwalkers patrolled the lake side. One such tom in need of hiding was Hailstar, for you see he was decided the previous night to not return to camp. Instead he had slept out under the stars away from his clan. It was not something most warriors would ever do, since the need to have there brethren close by while sleeping made them feel safe. Hailstar was a bit different in that sense though, for he returned to the clan yes, but not to lay near another. His den was separate, and though he was a tried and true warrior, his leadership role meant that he knew secrets and shared a closer bond with there ancestors then most of the others in the clan. That sort of thing had a way of creating a distance between all but the most loya in the clan and in some cases even them too. It was natural for the unknown factors in life to be judged as different and unique.
The grey speckled tabby had just simply decided to be alone for a while. T give himself reason to be alone. Truthfully he hadn't been sleeping recently, and he was losing his edge from it all, and this was his way of trying to clear his head. As fate would have it however this had backfired on him rather quickly. See he was well aware of the time of year. The twolegs were already swarming his territory, making no allowances or delusions as to why they were there. They pulled prey up from the lake, and let there kin wander through there lands scaring away most of the prey. It was hard for them to maneuver around these pesky beings, and it certainatly didn't make his job as leader any more plesent.
He just didn't understand why they had to pillage there home, why they couldn't pack up there metal monster and go bother another place. No Hailstar was wel aware that the burdensome beasts were there to stay for another 2 moons, and he was limited in how to react to the complications they were bringing to his clan. If he attacked them with tooth and claw, then they would try and snare them in shiny twigs and brambles to capture them, for torture no less. Several warriors had been smothered by twoleg kits before, having screamed and clawed for realease and narrowly escaping. It made him grimace and narrow his eyes just thinking about such things as he watched them leave there nests and walk into his land.
One particularily gangly looking male kit wandered a bit too close to him for his liking, and that tipped the repressed stress and aggression from Hailstar into focus, and he lashed out with his fore paw striking out in an arc not only intending to cause damaging, but trying to look menacing to the kit. His face contorted to the likeness of a snake head, of a cobra waiting to strike. His hiss long an drawn out, displaying an opened mouth glance at his sharp deadly fangs. His shoulders and back arched in a strong pose readying himself and making his muscles stand out under his pelt. The fur around the sides and his chest fluffed up more, giving him a mane like quality to the fur on his head, and he yowled in fury at the kit. " Back off my territory and take your stinking kin with you! All you are causing is pain and turmoil for those I have to protect!"
Surely this was madness, the extent of a leader not really thinking about the varriables in this scenario, not caring that he was displaying things that only the most reckless warriors would stoop to. No he was well away of the momentum driving his need to lash out, and he was desperately glad to have something to focus it on that was not related to the clans. Hailstar was living in his created moment, and with no larger twolegs in sight, he intended to teach this one a lesson.

The soft ground was still damp from the morning dew. The sun was steadily rising as it always did. Her dark tipped ears twitched back and forth, listening to the morning sounds. Birds chirping, winds blowing through the grass and reeds, the sound of running water. All of it was soothing to the deputy of Riverclan. These were the sounds she grew up with. They were the sounds that made her feel at home.
Willowshade's pace was starting to pick up as she realized how fast time was passing by. She didn't push herself to hard though, she had to start taking it easy. At first she didn't think it was possible, but a few weeks had passed and the changes with her body were becoming noticeable. No one else in the clan could tell yet, but Willowshade could. She didn't know what to think. There was only one possible time that this could have happened. With only one possible tom. She sighed, trying to keep herself calm. Unfortunately Willowshade had to find a way to tell Hailstar. It wasn't going to be easy and she didn't know how he would take the news. The two of them had always been close, but I don't think either of them expected this to come of it.
The deputy had tried to find the leader last night before heading to bed, but he was nowhere to be found. She figured he was out hunting or something and she would find him in the morning. This news couldn't wait too much longer, soon the others in the clan would start to whisper about it. She wanted Hailstar to find out from her first. But this morning when she woke and he was not in his den or anywhere else in the camp, Willowshade's heart became worried.
She didn't want to sound the alarm to the clan and panic them all. There were explanations of him missing. He could have come into camp late last night and then left early this morning. But to think that something might have happened to him overnight though, and that he really didn't come back to camp because he was hurt or.. Willowshade would forever blame herself if that was the case. Tracking his scent wasn't worth it, the trail was so faint and there were so many other trails that crossed over with his. At this point she was just venturing through her territory, hoping to come across him. Of course she was placing markers where she could so the other clans still knew that Riverclan's presence was strong.
Willowshade noticed she was heading towards twoleg's place. She shuddered at the thought. They were such a nuisance to every cat out here. A danger, and a threat. Thoughts of teaching her kits about things like this made her think of how much responsibility she would have. It would almost be as if she had three or four apprentices to mentor. Being the deputy and a first-time mother this was the only thing she could compare it to. Of course she watched queens teach their kits right from wrong and other such things. Her own mother taught her how to behave. It seemed natural for them, she wondered if it would happen that way for her as well. She continued onward, looking for any trace of the Riverclan leader.
Passing a few bushes, a yowl made Willowshade stop dead in her tracks. She couldn't be sure, but she wanted to believe it was Hailstar. It sounded like a yowl of warning, which could only mean one thing. Trouble. Immediately her brain switched into deputy mode. It was her job to protect her clan and the members in it. Whether it was Hailstar or not who made that noise, Willowshade's instincts kicked in and she was prepared to rush into battle. Luckily, she hesitated. With the safety of her unborn kits at stake, Willowshade needed a safer plan. She quickly bound for the shelter of the bushes nearest to her. The idea of trying to find where the voice came from and why it was so loud seemed smart at this point.
Peering through the branches of her hiding place she could see a young, male twoleg in an area of tall grass. He was looking down at something that caught his interest. Willowshade was unsure of what it was. The height of the grass and her distance from him were hindering her view. Glancing around the surrounding area, she spotted a cluster of large bushes, not too far from the twoleg. Using her warrior training, Willowshade took in the rest of her surroundings and then began to stealthily dart towards the bushes. She didn't want to be seen by the twoleg or any others that might have been lurking around.
When the deputy made it into the bushes, she pushed her way through in order to get a better look at the twoleg and his object of interest. Following his gaze down, she spotted the grey pelt of her leader and friend. Panic started to overcome her senses, but she was able to get a grip before she lost it. He didn't seem injured or stuck. Willowshade sent a silent prayer to Starclan for guidance and safety. It would be a risk for herself and her unborn kits to run out towards the two, but if she were to just call Hailstar's name it might distract him and give the twoleg an opportunity to grab him.
Watching the interaction between the two, Willowshade realized that Hailstar wasn't trying to run, he was trying to fight. Her brain rushed to come up with a safe, but smart solution. She crouched in the bushes waiting and watching for her leader's next move. Willowshade thought it might give her an idea of what to do next. words: 975 comments: ohh boy.. (;

Hailstar raked his claws down the jeans of the twoleg, its material making his claws hold fast and stick in to the boy's pants. This startling occurrence only made him madder, and he tried to rip his claws free. To no avail it seemed as the fabric was thick, and Hailstar wondered what type of pelt this was, that could trap the sharp claws of a warrior. By Now he was drawing the attention of the boy, who looked down at the grey leader struggling to rid himself of the leg of his pants.
Being at least six or seven, the boy had enough strength to contend with the leader as far as pulling went, and his walk made Hailstar fall forward, his claws making it easy for the twoleg to string him along. When he saw that the "kitty" was sticking to his leg, he howled in the misguided glee of a youngster with a new playmate or game. He reached out a hand towards the leader, who was getting up rather awkwardly from the ground, his paw still in the air above his head by force while doing so. Grumbling, and spitting out grass after being nonchalantly dragged, he tried to get his bearings back. Maybe he should have just stayed in the reeds, and let the twoleg quietly pass him by. He had thought that since it was just a little one, that maybe he could teach it to leave them alone, but it was quickly making him look like an imbecile.
It was then that he felt the wriggling nubs of the twoleg's paw trying to squish the life out of him, as it grabbed his fur on his back and yanked it down in a back and forth motion. Soon after he began to feel sick, and once more started to viciously yank his arm to break free of the pest. He was able to get free, and turned on the boy's hand, flipping onto his back and digging his claws into its flesh as payback for pulling out his fur and choking him. Here he found his claws would not get stuck. The boy howled in pain, and cried almost immediately, making Hailstar scrunch his ears to his head in pain as well, for the wailing was high pitched and hurt his ears.
Something nearby slammed, and he looked to see an older twoleg running from the house, waving an object around, which little did Hailstar know was called a bat. He was about to run for it, when the boy grabbed his tail as he turned, and yanked on it hard in revenge. Shouting from the boy and the older male were heard, and he tried vainly to break free. Turning on his hind paws he reached out and clawed the boy again, but was unable to fully avoid the swing of the older man. The bat hit him hard in the shoulder, and sent him rolling side over side, until he landed in a heap, his paws splayed out, and his head lying in between them. The man grabbed the boy and whispered words of comfort to him, before yelling again at the prone form of Hailstar, and walked away back into the house, the boy following, and the resounding crack of a closed wooden door ending the event.
Blackness threatened to over take his sight almost as soon as the blow had hit him. Fire spitting pain shot through his scapula, and throughout his nerves as the force of its contact ravaged his body. Undignified he had sailed through the air for only a short while before doing turns and winding up like this, all the while he was cursing his stupidity. Here he was out alone, and now hurt. He lifted his head only a slight distance from the ground, his ears still ringing painfully. With great effort he avoided passing out, it was bad enough that he was prone to danger out in the open. Trying to flex his shoulder, he felt the muscles and bone ache in protest unlike an other time they had before. He prayed nothing was broken, though knew he would be unable to stand for some time, while the swelling persisted. He needed to get to cover though, as he was worried that the man might come back and finish him off. Reaching out with his other paw, he sank his claws into the ground and hauled his limp form forward. He used his back legs to push, and slightly lift his body from the ground, and he moved towards the reed bed again. He only wondered what the warriors in his clan were up to know, hopfully not in trouble like him.

From her hiding spot, Willowshade kept watch, waiting for what would happen next. She tried to think of reasons why Hailstar would act this way. Surely he knew how much danger the twolegs could cause a cat. She didn't understand what would possess the leader to do what he did next. The deputy watched in surprise as the gray tom attacked the young twoleg. When the boy yelled out with what seemed like excitement, Willowshade's ears pressed against her head. Why didn't you just get out of there?! She scolded him silently. His actions were ridiculous and stupid. She couldn't believe how careless he was being, he was endangering himself. She couldn't imagine something happening to him. If the twoleg took off with Hailstar, he would be leaving behind his entire clan and now, future family.
The deputy couldn't let that happen. She refused to have her kits grow up without a father. Her own father wasn't the nicest cat around and honestly didn't treat her family with respect. Matter of fact she still hadn't forgiven him for everything he had done to her. She hoped Hailstar would be different. Willowshade wanted her kits to grow up loved and protected by their parents, not disciplined and disregarded. Willowshade decided she would take action against her gut feeling. She started to form a plan in her head, trying to use some common sense.
But she didn't take action soon enough. Time seemed to move in slow motion as she heard the twoleg scream. This made Willowshade flinch and press her ears against her head once more. The sudden slamming noise after the crying from the boy made her jump again. She could only watch as an older twoleg came out swinging what looked like a silly branch. It didn't look like the normal ones in the forests. Somehow this one was scary. And then she realized why, before she could move one step closer to Hailstar the boy grabbed Hailstar's tail. Crashing towards the Riverclan leader, the older twoleg started to swing the weird branch. Willowshade gasped as the wooden weapon came crashing down to hit the gray tom.
Her heart dropped watching her leader crumble to the ground. She felt sick to her stomach and lightheaded. Her own safety was no longer a thought. She dashed out of the bush, watching as the twolegs turned to go towards the house. She considered an attack, but decided Hailstar's safety was more important. When she finally made it over to him, she crouched down in front of him, looking at his face. "Hailstar!?" She meowed urgently, checking for blood. Thankfully she didn't see any. But that didn't mean he was out of the woods just yet. Willowshade could tell he was fading in and out of consciousness. The gray tom seemed to move a little and then his front paw reached out as he attempted to drag his body. "Stop, Hailstar, stop.." Willowshade meowed, moving so that she was directly in front of him. Maybe he didn't realize she was really there. The anxiety she was feeling was starting to build up. They did need to get out of this clearing and into some type of hiding. It was obvious that the tom couldn't walk. They, or more so she, would have to figure out a way to move him without causing too much pain.
Willowshade took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves. She couldn't stop looking over her shoulder at the house the twolegs entered, afraid they may come out to terrorize Hailstar again. "We need to get you out of this opening, but I need to know how much pain you're in. Would you be able to lean against me and walk towards shelter?" She asked, giving his cheek a tiny nuzzle. The deputy knew that he wouldn't be able to walk, but he could possibly limp or hobble towards the reeds. But she didn't know where exactly on his body it hurt. Sending a silent prayer up to Starclan, she closed her eyes for a second, wishing the medicine cat was there.

A consistent fuzzy atmospheric film threatening to over take his eye sight and his consciousness completely made him feel like he was spinning end over end. This couldn't have been further from the truth as he was practically limp against the ground. At first Hailstar had thought himself alone, and didn't smell or notice Willowshade approach him. His own stubborn streak had him digging and trying to pull himself away from the scene of the attack. It was never smart to linger in a battle zone after the confrontation without backup. Lots of things were knew to him at the moment, and he was grasping several realities all at once. The level of his recent stupidity for one thing, registered loud and clear amongst his now pulsing skull. The throbbing of his shoulder blade a nice reminder of just how hard an opponent could knock sense into you, which he now knew for certain that twolegs hit much harder then cats.
His vision was starting to settle out, and thankfully it was leaning towards not passing out. He could barely make out patches of shadows, as his focus was drastically off at the moment. Still keeping in mind he needed to move, and not realizing that Willowshade was in front of him now, he reached his paw out again to quickly withdraw it from the air as a shape loomed closer. Finally he knew who she was, as she nuzzled his cheek in concern, and her scent filled his nose. He breathed in her warmth glad to feel the soothing scent of another, espeacialy her, Willowshade his deputy and friend. She and him had an odd sort of relationship to one another, and he knew that he could always count on her.
It angered him that he had driven his deputy to have to leave the others just to search for him. He was also well determined to over work himself to make up for all this trouble once he returned to the camp. It wasn't fair that he had to rely on her so much now. He nodded to her about moving, he agreed of course as he had in fact been trying to move anyway moments ago. It would not do well for the twoleg to come back for them. He would not let any harm come to Willowshade though, and would die protecting her if he had to. She was much more practical then he had been as of late and would be the best choice as his successor should anything happen.
Her words sunk in slowly as to answer her, his vision returning, he was looking into her eyes. He though he saw fear there, but if so for whom, he certainly hadn't deserved it. Grimacing at himself once more, he clenched his jaw and made to stand. Hailstar was a strong tom, and just as proud as most. He would not let her take the brunt of his weight if he could help it, though he would need help. Most of his limbs were fine, shaken up but fine. His right shoulder hung a tad limp compared to his left one, and he realized that it might be out of place. His paw and leg was also not working the right way, and he knew then that he had probably dislocated his shoulder at the least. He had bent his head in concentration to rise, but now he looked forward keeping his neck stretched low at shoulder height. Looking at her, he tried to look like he wasn't in as much pain as he was really in. A façade he was sure she would see through, but like most males felt he would give a go anyway. Instead of answering her question about pain and there in reminding himself of exactly where he was hurting, he asked her an off topic question. " Willowshade? What are you doing out here?" Thinking she might get mad at the question he let it hang there before adding more." Not that I don't love seeing you right now, but who is guarding the camp?" There he stood in all his beaten glory prodding her with questions and trying to ignore his pain, looking like an oaf in the process.

A light breeze ruffled her gray and chocolate striped fur. She crouched closer to the ground, wishing the grass was a little taller so the two cats would have a better cover. It was unnerving for the deputy to feel so vulnerable. Of course with the lives of others at stake, Willowshade was even more concerned. It was her duty to protect her clanmates, including her leader. She couldn't imagine the reasons for his stupidity and at the moment she wanted to reprimand him. However, it was in everyone's best interest to just get to cover and then back to camp. She knew how hard he could be on himself and figured he was already kicking himself for what he had done.
The two were a complex pair, both having their own quirks. The connection the two had was fully built on trust. They relied on each other a lot, seeing as they were not only close friends, but also leader and deputy. Willowshade found it hard to let others in, past the barriers she had built, after losing her beloved Ashfoot. Hailstar was one of the first and few she trusted with her own life. He was the one who helped her get back on her feet after her loss. Coincidently he was also the one who was helping her connect with her clanmates and show more compassion towards them.
It wasn’t as though she didn’t care about them, she honestly did. The deputy had proven on many occasions that she would risk her own life for one of her clan. She was just very blunt and came across as harsh to most. She was trying to change that, but was struggling with it. Sometimes Hailstar would remind her how she came across and would give her tips on how to be…nicer. Willowshade appreciated everything Hailstar had ever done for her. She truly did care about him, even if their relationship was complicated. She realized that her pregnancy wouldn’t help with that. And she honestly hoped it wouldn’t cause an awkward reaction from Hailstar. She didn’t want to lose him, but was unsure of how he’d react once she told him.
At first it seemed like Hailstar hadn't noticed his deputy’s presence, but she watched him pull back his paw as she stepped in front of him. When Willowshade nuzzled his cheek, she could sense him relax a little. Knowing he was relieved to have her there, her tension died down some as well. She didn’t drop her guard completely however, checking over her shoulder still, waiting for the twoleg to return.
The Riverclan deputy took note of his head nodding after she asked him if he could move. She flinched slightly as he attempted to stand, taking note of the pain on his face. She couldn’t imagine how he was feeling right now, but knew that the twoleg had caused a lot of damage. If Willowshade could get the injured tom to cover, she could search for some poppy seeds before they headed back to camp. Before she lost Ashfoot, she spent a lot of time in the medicine cat den with him because of his injury. She had learned a little about how to ease his pain. Instead of constantly bugging their medicine cat, she would give him the little black seeds to help.
Willowshade moved to Hailstar’s side, but not before she observed how his leg was hanging from his body. It pained her to see him in such a condition. She could only hope and pray that the medicine cat could heal him. It wouldn’t be good if the clan was left with an injured leader and a pregnant deputy. They would be seen as weak by the other clans and would be at risk of attacks. Riverclan was already struggling with finding food. It didn’t help that the two cats who were supposed to be in charge and lead the clan were incapacitated.
Willowshade took a deep breath, finding comfort in Hailstar’s scent as her fur mingled with his. When she pressed her body against his, he began to speak. Willowshade? What are you doing out here? She rolled her eyes, a little frustrated. Before she could answer Hailstar spoke again. Not that I don't love seeing you right now, but who is guarding the camp? The deputy had to remind herself that he was still the leader and no matter how reckless his actions were, she still had to respect him. “Looks like I’m saving your tail.” She shook her head as she continued, taking the sarcasm out of her voice. “Don’t worry about it. Right now, we need to get out of here. Once we get you to a safe spot, I’ll go and find some poppy seeds. That will give you some time to rest. Then we need to get you back to camp and have the medicine cat treat you.” She gave him a swift lick just below his ear, before gently pushing closer to her so they could begin moving.
She hoped he wouldn’t question her further and would just focus on moving. She didn’t want to let him know she didn’t technically leave someone in change when she ventured out this morning. Willowshade didn’t realize she’d be gone this long and truthfully, it hadn’t really crossed her mind. She was too preoccupied with worrying about him and telling him her news, that she wasn’t thinking properly. She trusted her clan and knew there were senior warriors who could take charge to send out patrols. Still, Hailstar probably wouldn’t be too pleased with her if he found out. It wasn’t her brightest idea, leaving camp and telling no one, but there was no point in worrying about it now. Willowshade’s main priority was getting Hailstar back to camp with no further injuries. Then maybe after he was treated, she could tell him the news. She pushed the thought to the back of her mind, the unborn kits were distracting her from her job and she didn’t like it so far. Willowshade turned her attention back to taking small steps towards the shelter of the reeds a few fox-lengths ahead of them.

The emboldened Hailstar stood as best as he could, evenly displacing his weight on three limbs instead of all four was not so difficult, walking would be the hard part. If he needed to he could use his bum leg still some what, his paw could push odd the ground, but it pained him greatly. As much as he really had hoped that his antics would leave him without consequence, he knew that his shoulder was out of the socket. Bones don't usually grind on one another in the manner they were for him. It was a simple, albeit uncomfortable process to put it back in place. He really didn't want to have to treck all the way back to the camp in order to get it fixed. It was very irritating knowing that he was nearly useless in this state, well he could react and would of course fight through the pain should something bad happen, but he wasn't much use in a threat right now.
Once he took in his situation, though no pleased, he was glad to have Willowshade with him. She was comforting for him, it wasn't often he liked relying on others to fully commit to a task, but he could always trust her. Truthfully he had to admit to himself that they were closer then merely friends. As of late they had spent a decent amount of time with each other, seeking company, and talking about the clan among other things. She was a good friend, and he would have to make this up to her. Hailstar had never considered that she might like him as more then a friend, and he wasn't sure he wanted to bare his heart for the possibility that she wouldn't. The disheveled tom wasn't even certain that he could give her more, he had to worry about the clan first, and he had no right to take away her future. It worried him that he was even thinking of such things, he needed to get back to the camp.
When she leaned on him, he smiled in acknowledgement of her help, and wincing, made his way over to the shelter with her. Alert, he noted that even for shelter it was pretty sparse, and though better then in the open, it would not do for them to linger there. " My shoulder feels dislodged, I will need to have you put it back in place if we are to return to camp." He remembered injurying himself in a similar manner before, and so knew that this was probably what he had done. He wondered if she would protest, she most likely would want him to get back to the camp. It would not do for the clan to see there leader hurt at this time. If that meant that he had to go without the aid of the medicine cat, then so be it.

Letting out a sigh, the Riverclan deputy lead her leader to safety. She could tell he wasn't letting her bare half as much weight as she should've been, so she pushed against him a little harder. She held her tongue though, not wanting to argue with him at the moment. It wouldn't be good if the two were mad at each other, seeing as Willowshade still had to tell Hailstar her big news. She rolled her eyes, getting more frustrated with every step she took. This is so stupid. She thought to herself as they headed towards the reeds. Hailstar's actions, her pregnancy, everything at the moment seemed that way. Stupid. Of course, she was partially to blame for being pregnant. She thought it would be a harmless, one time thing. She should've known better.
Willowshade thought about it a little more and came to the conclusion that it was a wasted effort being upset about it. There was nothing she could do now, and technically more kits would make Riverclan seem stronger. It was still frustrating, but she tried her best to think of it as a positive. Now if only they could get back to camp and get Hailstar healed, that would be an actual positive. His voice broke her from her thoughts though. My shoulder feels dislodged, I will need to have you put it back in place if we are to return to camp. If Willowshade knew that Hailstar could hold himself up she would've stopped walking completely and stared him down. But, there was still some compassion in the grumpy she-cat so she continued moving. She still gave him a look though, even though she didn't know if he could see it. "You can't be serious right now." She meowed, trying to keep temper out of it. "Hailstar, I've never done that. I'm not a medicine cat."
Willowshade almost stopped again, instead she slowed down. "What if I make it worse? I can just run and grab the medicine cat. They'll fix it out here. Besides, that would give you even more time to rest." She meowed, desperation reaching through her voice. As frustrated as she was at this point, the thought of causing Hailstar more pain or damage pulled at her heart. She wouldn't be able to live with herself, knowing she was the one who tried to fix him but just made it worse. Even though their pace had slowed, they finally made it to the reeds. A breath of relief escaped the deputy, feeling slightly more comfortable than out in the open grass. She choose a shady spot, under one of the few trees around, for him to sit under.

Hailstar- Bones be flipped...~
He watched his destination, hoping that by glaring at it, he would fall towards it if he somehow lost his balance. It would be really embarrasing if he dd such a thing, not that he currently wasn't embarrased already because of his actions, quite the contrary actually. Once he had said the words, of her fixing him up herself, which though a little out of line, he still found acceptable, she got angry with him real quick. He couldn't tell so much by her expression, more like the tense and started pelt leaning against his own, that is what had forged the connection of her feelings to his. It also instantly bothered him to know that she was upset. She slowed down a bit without warning, and he jarred slightly, and bit back a yelp, nearly drawing blood from his cheeks. The last thing he wanted was for her to think she had caused him more pain. He did need help though, and as little as he liked her wandering back on her own he knew that her way was best in this case. That thought was odd as well since he was the maimed one and she was perfectly fine and he didn't like the idea of her the clan's deputy, his second going back to camp alone on Riverclan's territory. It was absolutly absurd, and he could imagine her look he would get from her if he said it, let alone the claws that would fly his way for certain. Nodding his head, he sat down lifting his paws slightly no more then an inch from the ground, which was as much as he could manage unknown to her, to talk to her. " Very well, you may return to camp and get the medicine cat, but use discretion, and tell em to bring the supplies out here to treat me. I do not want the clan to know. I will be fine after it is replaced this I am sure of." He tried to give her a half grin to reassure her. Hailstar was caving here, and he knew it, but what other options did he have. note: you can play the med cat as a fake if you want i don't care, or just say she got him and we can rp around it or something. Your call.
