The faint shadows of early morning dawn stretched out the remainder of the night time threshold on the clearing. It was during the previous night, that Shadowclan had once more slept in there damaged and drowned camp. She was quite reluctant to have to move her clan elsewhere, not that it wasn't a safer and smarter option, it was more unorthodox then anything really as she would have to seek help. Furystar was not familiar with asking nicely, it just wasn't something she was used to having to do, or go as planned. Thunderclan or Riverclan... Neither are considered allies during harsh times, as Shadowclan has never been one to ask, we usually take. With numbers down though, its unlikely that we would succeed. Furystar growled low, these things should not happen to a clan for simply surviving. Shadowclan had not made trouble in quite some time, since the reign of Icestar to be exact, and it was irritating to say the least that her clan was suffering such loss. What was Starclan doing up there anyway, twiddling there tails?
They had received no warning, not one single word from them to tell them a flood was coming. So many unnecessary deaths, her anger told her could have been avoided. It was luck that she had saved a kitten from drowning, but her own recently appointed apprentice had perished. Now her responsibility was to keep her clan strong, and fed, though that wasn't easy as prey were never quick to return from a flood. It would be at least a moon before it started to run properly. They had to be careful of how much prey they caught of what little they could find now, for fear of it discouraging the return of prey altogether.
The dawn sunlight glinted off her form sitting on the branches of the dead tree. Her bold stare back into its light, showed her malice in her features. Here she would meet her warriors to keep them sharp, here she would make sure they had something to focus on besides there losses. As patiently as she could muster, which wasn't usually a lot, she waited for them to join her. Perhaps she would discuss her plans with them as well, it would be practical. No doubt those who came would have questions anyway.

Raggedtooth Looking at the world's reflection, until it changes...
Dark green eyes that bore the concentration of a very focused and moody tom cat took in the morning light, but didn't heed it as being much different then any other morning. Now matter how much the light intensified or darkened usually its schedule remained the same. This was untrue of his surroundings, which were hard to navigate and murky. There part of the forest was heavily feeling the effects of the flood. It was still too early in the season to expect the faint rays of light to help dry it all up. Add to that the rains that came more during this time of the year, something that was only adding to there problems. All of this it seemed he was powerless to change, there leader was also unable to do much it seemed. She was trying to rally them now, that much he was certain of. The remains of Shadowclan were divided into different duties everyday, and today he had been told to meet the leader with a substantial group of cats to train.
This was something that felt natural to him at least, and it gave him an inner solace to know that it was still possible to continue feeling normal after all that had happened to them. His father, an elder, had been drowned by the murky waters, and had been found by him once it cleared in the den where his nest would have been. It hardened his resolve not to break down over these events, though just barely. His apprentice had survived at least, and that he was glad for, even if he didn't openly show it as much. Ratpaw was his responsibility after all, and he couldn't live with losing anyone else close to him.
Avoiding the larger pools of water, for calling them anything smaller would greatly diminish there actual size, he made his way to the dead tree clearing. Aside from having been seriously water logged in the flood, Raggedtooth had escaped injury. He wasn't getting the sleep he usually got, but that was to be expected, clean bedding was hard to find, let alone a dry place to sleep. Some had taken to sleeping in lower pines, he so far had not, but was seriously considering it. Stepping towards the tree he nodded to his leader, and awaited her words. So far he was the first to get there, but he knew others would arrive, who he was not certain, because Furystar had asked them specifically. His apprentice could even surprise him and show without him being aware of it.

Blackpaw
It appeared that once again he'd been forgotten. Not that this was any surprise of course. With the flood and the deaths caused by it, those who had survived were busy with various duties. Normally though, the very quiet apprentice was often overlooked. He'd been told assist the medicine cat, but the cranky old tom had told him to go away and with that the young tom had been unsure of what to do. Hunting was still a difficult task and his training had yet to make it that far. His recently appointed mentor was among the missing, leaving Blackpaw without someone to turn to with questions.
One of the warriors - Raggedtooth maybe -approach the dead tree where Furystar waited. Blackpaw glanced around, thinking to himself, Should I join? The apprentice rolled the thought around his mind for a minute before padding over to where the two cats were. He took a seat near, but not within touching distance of the warrior and turned his gaze to Furystar. What would the leader have them do?
