FULL DESCRIPTION!
Willowshade is an average-size cat who seems to be equally proportionate. Her short, soft fur is a little on the fancy side. The base color of her fur is a light gray. It is covered with rich brown stripes. Her legs and belly are more gray and have very little stripes. Her tail is more brown than gray, as is her face. Her paws are all brown and so is her nose. Willowshade's eyes are a dull golden color. She could be considered a blue mackerel tabby cat.

PERSONALITY!
Willowshade may not come across as the sweetest, most polite cat. Especially if you don't know her. Many from her clan consider her to be strict, but quiet. Those not in Riverclan may perceive her as cold and hard. She is very straightforward and to the point. There's not a lot of funny business happening if Willowshade is near. She makes sure that the members of her clan are keeping up with their duties and likes to keep them all busy. She doesn't like to see slackers or cats who don't pull their weight around the clan. It's important to her that Riverclan is prepared for anything.
When overseeing the apprentices and mentors, she will confront the mentors if she notices the training seems to be lacking. Most of the time she doesn't blame the apprentice, she blames the mentor; claiming that they aren't doing their job as they should. The younger cats, especially kits are a weak spot for her, even though she may try to deny it. Willowshade is definitely not heartless, she's just disciplined. Eventually she would like to be a mother, but it's not something she's told anyone. If she were to have a litter, it might soften her exterior.
She enjoys spending time alone or with some of the few close friends she has. At times it's hard for her to let other in. She fears being hurt as she was in the past. That's right, she wasn't always this harsh when she was younger. There are those who remind her to try and be nicer, more compassionate. Most of the time if she has someone telling her that she isn't being the nicest, then she'll make an attempt to be.
HISTORY!
Willowshade was born Willowkit in a cold, wet beginning of Newleaf. Her mother, Bluefrost, and her father, Blackwhisker, were apprentices together. Bluefrost was the sweetheart in the clan and Blackwhisker was just the opposite. He was a bully and troublemaker. But when Bluefrost was around, he became a charming cat. Bluefrost's parents were not happy when the two became warriors and soon afterward mated. Willowkit and her three siblings, Beetlekit, Darkkit, and Shadowkit were born in the middle of the night. When Willowkit and her siblings were born, Blackwhisker became a different cat then the clan had known. He was very protective of his kits, which was understood. But the way he interacted with them. He was so sweet and caring, it was unheard of from him.
As they became older, almost to apprentice age, he became more strict with them. Some cats said he was turning into the old Blackwhisker. In a way they were kind of right. He wasn't the same playful dad the kits had grown to know and love. He was turning cold and bitter. Because of the low number of warriors in the clan, Blackwhisker was assigned to mentor his only daughter, Willowkit, now Willowpaw. When he was training her, his moods were inconsistent. Most days he was actually very informative. Willowpaw was a quick learner and enjoyed fighting more than hunting. Blackwhisker had always favored Willowpaw, but even she wasn't safe from his temper. There were days when a switch would go off and Blackwhisker would act like he did before the kits were born.
Willowpaw took her father's anger with a grain of salt. She knew deep down that he loved her and she loved him. So they continued on with her apprenticeship. She began to grow close with another apprentices, Ashpaw. The two quickly became inseperable and Blackwhisker noticed. He wasn't too keen on his daughter finding the "love of her life" this early. He tried to keep the two apart and was not nice to Ashpaw at all. Bluefrost tried to explain to Blackwhisker that they had done the same thing. He wouldn't listen though. Throughout Willowpaw's training he increasingly became more strict with her. He even tried to have the leader keep her an apprentice when the time came to appoint them all their warrior names.
Thankfully the leader did not do such a thing and Willowpaw became Willowshade. Her and Ashpaw, now Ashfoot, were still together and still happy. Even if her father didn't support it. They were beginning their lives when a tragedy struck. A group of rogues ambushed a patrol, which included both Blackwhisker and Ashfoot. As the fighting continued, Blackwhisker was able to kill one of them. He stood by watching Ashfoot losing his battle against two of the rogues. Fortunately the other warriors were able to chase them off. Ashfoot was still alive, but left very weak and with an injured leg. When Blackwhisker was confronted as to why he didn't help, he claimed that he was also injured and didn't have the energy.
Willowshade spent the next few weeks in and out of the medicine cat's den. Ashfoot's recovery was taking a long time and things weren't looking good. Willowshade blamed her father for being weak and pathetic. When Ashfoot took a turn for the worst, Willowshade could barely contain herself. She couldn't stand to lose her love. The thought itself was unbearable. Sadly, things only got worse for the too. A flood overcame parts of the camp. Some cats were swept away with the flowing currents, many were able to swim their way towards safety. Ashfoot wasn't as lucky. With his injuries he was unable to manage the strength of the water and was carried away from Willowshade for ever. He wasn't the only one the river tried to claim though. Blackwhisker was caught off guard trying to help Bluefrost to safety. Without having to think about it, Willowshade ran to help her father, and she was able to help him out of the rushing water. He didn't seem thankful and brushed Willowshade off. This hurt her more than anything. She had just saved her fathers life after losing her mate, but had nothing to show for it.
It was during this time when Willowshade became withdrawn from the clan and she picked up her pessimistic attitude. Blackwhisker became ill from almost drowning and died shortly after. He still hadn't thanked his daughter for saving him and she still hadn't forgiven him for never accepting Ashfoot. She began to put her anger and pain to good use as she was appointed her first apprentice, Slatepaw. Her determination was put to good use and she found that she had a knack for keeping the youngster in line. He was a quick learner, just as Willowshade was. He also enjoyed fighting more than hunting. He became one of the best fighters in the clan and earned his warrior name. She was appointed another apprentice shortly after training Slatepaw. During this time, Riverclan was attacked by Windclan and Willowshade fought hard for her clan, trying her best to protect them. Unfortunately Riverclan's deputy, Tigerclaw passed away during one of the battles and Hailflight was made the deputy.
Life for Willowshade after losing Ashfoot was hard, but she tried to keep busy with training her apprentices and working to keep the clan prepared for the next disaster they would have to endure. She had already seen so much in her short life it seemed unreal. Then Thrushstar passed away the next leafbare and Hailflight became Hailstar. Knowing that she was an excellent fighter and hard worker, he chose Willowshade for the position of Riverclan's deputy. She accepted with some doubts, but has easily fit the role, even if she isn't the most understood cat around.
