D A W N L I G H T The morning light had illuminated the dark, damp Riverclan camp. The once muddy terrain was slowly baking in the sunlight.
Dawnlight ventured from her den, nodding a silent greeting to every clan member that she walked by. Her sleep had been fitful, allowing her only a few hours to rest. The thought of taking the night watch had crossed her mind, but as usual she assumed that the nightmares would end. Besides, she probably just needed to get some air. Her paws soon found her near the entrance to the camp. Sitting on guard was her brother Blackstripe. She greeted him with a friendly mew, of which he returned with a curt nod and sparkling eyes.
Venturing out into the reeds was not something Dawnlight enjoyed too much, but today seemed like an exception. Her normally white paws were caked with mud and dirt, and her felt was cold and soggy. Only the morning sun seemed to offer her warmth. As she wandered around the reeds, the scent of a cat wafted through her nose. Immediately, she raced towards it, her paws barely making a sound as she hunted down her target. From far, she was able to make out the shape of a large tabby pelt, but the wind had changed direction and picking up his scent at her distance seemed hopeless. Cautiously, she approached the cat, her paws silently placing themselves in strategic spots in order to avoid the common sounds one could make under wet circumstances.
She was almost there, behind the reeds even. As she raised her head, her heart stopped. The cat was no rogue, in fact, it was her leader Hailstar. A sigh of relief escaped her muzzle as she quickly licked away at her paws. Calmly and collectively, Dawnlight approached her leader, coughing slightly as to alert him of her presence, but not to scare him.
"Pleasant day for a little hunt?" she teased in an almost sweet voice. She sat down in front of the tom, admiring his features. Hailstar was a new leader and Dawnlight had pretty much grown up hearing about him. But now that she was truly one on one with the tom, the gossip and common words about the male were truly unmatched by his living beauty. Dawnlight twitched her whiskers in delight.

Fadedmist was enjoying the peace of the day. In his jaws he carried a plump rabbit, worthy enough to feed a few apprentices in one helping. The day was long and Fadedmist was slowly beginning to tire. A slight soreness echoed through his paws as he head back to camp. But something didn't seem right. Several dog scents were drifting through the air.
Confusion hit Fadedmist smack in the gut as he heard the screeches of cats in the Thunderclan camp. Dropping the rabbit, Fadedmist raced as fast as he could towards the frightening yowls. His black pelt burst into the camp, and a shocked breath escaped him as he saw two dogs terrorizing the camp. With hackles raised, Fadedmist charged headfirst at the dogs, taking note of Blackjaw's diversion towards the smaller of the dogs. Fadedmist dodged under their feet before noticing Morningpaw standing face to face with the dogs. "Morningpaw! MOVE! NOW!" he yelled.
He felt a graze across his shoulder and the scent of blood began to fill his nostrils. Fademist darted back and forth, unleashing a few blows towards the larger dog's head. The pain in his shoulder increased as he fought for his life. He glanced in the direction of Morningpaw, hoping that the young apprentice was able to make a run for it.

Name: Dawnlight Age: 30 moons Gender: She-cat Clan: RiverClan Desired Rank: Warrior Appearance: Dawnlight is a beautiful white tortoiseshell she-cat with orange and black spots. The main tortoiseshell colours are composed of orange and black. A large orange patch runs from her face down towards her back with occasional splotches of colour on her tail. The black patches cover her right ear, with smaller black spots on the left side of her face as well as a large black spot on her shoulders and back.
Dawnlight's eyes are a gorgeous hazel colour. Her frame is rather small, but her long tail compensates for the stature. Her whiskers are long and many, making this young she-cat seem gentle and playful. Personality: Dawnlight has a rather cheerful personality. She tends to play on a caring side instead of a strict side. She loves to be around other cats and socialize, always looking at the bright side of things. Her sunny personality usually ends up brightening others' days.
Dawnlight acts in a very caring manner towards all apprentices. She loves to watch them learn and practice their moves. She is well mannered and great at keeping calm. She values loyalty to her clan above everything.
Dawnlight tends to be forgetful at times. She is not sure why, but sometimes she forgets where she is or how she got somewhere. This is especially a problem when she's reporting border patrols or updating the clan on details about the Gathering. With a committed friend, Dawnlight's chances at remembering details will be great. History: Dawnlight entered the world as young little, rambunctious Dawnkit. She was named after the beautiful tortoiseshell colourings that seemed to glow at the light of dawn. She spent her kit days alone, with no siblings to share the den with. She would often gaze into the distance, watching the various techniques that the apprentices used.
Upon apprenticeship, Dawnpaw was intent on the ultimate goal: become the deputy of Riverclan. She trained hard and well, often volunteering for patrols. She looked up to the clan leader as a role model and often dreamed of one day becoming one.
When she was named a warrior, Dawnlight kept up her usual regime and stuck to her goal. However as she got used to the warrior life, she lost the desire to become the deputy of the clan. She much preferred to settle down and start a family of her own. Growing up alone, Dawnlight tried to be social almost all the time. Name: Maplepaw Age: 6 moons Gender: She-cat Clan: WindClan Desired Rank: Apprentice Appearance: Maplepaw is a wonderfully gorgeous golden tabby she-cat. Her belly and chest fur, as well as the fur around her muzzle, is a lovely cream colour. The stripes that line her body are a dusty gold colour while her main pelt colour is a creamy gold. Maplepaw's eyes are a pale gray.
Maplepaw has a rather average build and smooth fur. Her whiskers are a vivid white and in plenty. Her nose is a nice salmon-pink colour. Her paw pads are kit-soft and a lovely pale pink and gray. She has a small smear of white across her muzzle and left eye, a variation in coat colouring. Personality: Maplepaw is a happy she-cat. She loves to have fun with almost everything she does. Making things into games allow her to focus all her efforts into a given task.
Maplepaw is known to be curious. She wants to know everything about, well, anything! She wants to build up her knowledge and is known to ask many questions in order to clarify concepts or just gain more knowledge about a subject. Recently apprenticed, Maplepaw knows little of the warrior code, let alone the rivalries between the clans. She loves to make friends and socialize with others.
Her lack of knowledge in the warrior code may make her vulnerable to breaking it. Careful attention to clan boundaries would make her see that other clans are not to be made friends with unless it is the night of a Gathering. Maplepaw will, if not taught otherwise, cross borders in an effort to explore. Her curiosity may be her downfall if not carefully nurtured. History: Maplepaw started as any kit. She was named for he lovely golden tabby fur and her gentle personality. When she was a kit, she would often wander off around the camp if left unattended, causing a mass panic for her mother. Eventually Maplekit learned that she had to stay in the nursery rather than go off on her own.
Maplekit often played with her sibling Cedarkit. When the two of them were apprenticed, Maplepaw grew exceptionally closer to her brother. She loved to do any activity with him and often seeked him out if she had any questions. Currently she wants to be the best apprentice, and perhaps warrior, the clan has ever seen! Name: Fadedmist Age: 24 moons Gender: Tom Clan: ThunderClan Desired Rank: Warrior Appearance: A large body contrasts against Fadedmist's small tail. His paws are proportionately sized, exhibiting small silver claws. His main attraction are his many long whiskers that seem to envelope the face. His ears are slightly large for his head, a small nick in his left ear.
Fadedmist's pelt is a gorgeous black colour. A white chest, left paw, and tail tip add a flare of curiosity to the tom's overall appearance. His eyes are a piercing emerald colour. The fur along his body is slightly rugged, an attribute gained by his unruliness. His tail is quite short, though the reason for its stunted growth is unknown. Personality: Fadedmist has a rather simple personality. He either likes you, or he tolerates you.
Fadedmist prefers to be alone. He's always been treated as the runt of his brothers and a side effect to that was his lonesome personality. He has developed a lack of interest in group assignments or gatherings. However, given time one might find that this lonesome tom is not as scary as he seems.
Fadedmist is gentle and cunning. He enjoys a good old sun bathe and swears loyalty to Thunderclan no matter what. Despite his lack of interest in group activities, Fadedmist does make an attempt to at least communicate during patrols or when 'sharing tongues'. He enjoys hanging around kits, adding a sparkle of friendliness to his character.
Towards other clans Fadedmist asks reserved. He could care less about the business going on in other clans. Should he find a rival cat on his territory, he will not hesitate to chase them off. Loyalty to the clan is of his utmost priority. However, he is not mouse-brained enough to go charging into a patrol of enemy warriors. He prefers to play a reserved role and discuss situations with the clan leader before acting in an illogical way.
History: Squealing for his brothers to leave him alone is as far back as Fadedmist can remember. Just like any other member of the clan, Fadedmist started out as Fadedkit. His brothers Blizzardkit and Skykit outmatched him in both size and strength. Fadedkit would always spend time on his own, afraid that he would get injured if he played with his siblings. Fadedkit always expressed tremendous interest in becoming an apprentice. He made a promise to himself on the night of his apprentice ceremony to uphold the code no matter what.
Upon becoming Fadedpaw, he instantly fell into step with all apprentice duties. He did his best to memorize the land around him, as well as to make friends with fellow clanmates. Despite his attempts at being social, he felt terribly lonesome and unwanted. Fadedpaw eventually began to lag behind in apprentice duties, plagued by the success of his older brothers Blizzardpaw and Skypaw.
Then it happened.
During a nighttime border patrol, Fadedpaw heard a screech off in the distance. He raced to see his two brothers and their mentors fighting off a fox and her cub. In desperation, Fadedpaw leaped into the scramble. The fox clawed his ear, adding the nick in his left lobe. The fox and her cub were defeated, but not without causing casualties to the cats. Skypaw was killed, crushed when the mother fox tumbled over him. Blizzardpaw lay in the Medicine Cat's den for moons before finally letting go of life. Being the only surviving brother of the three, Fadedpaw felt tremendous pressure to live his brothers' memory.
His apprentice training passed quickly, with many stumbles and quirks, but Fadedpaw pursued his goal of becoming a loyal warrior. At last his chance came after a battle with Riverclan over a small border dispute. Fadedpaw was granted his warrior name Fadedmist. Fadedmist sat vigil that night, reminiscing about his brothers and how far he had come since their deaths.
Fadedmist still upholds his promise to be a loyal warrior. He tends to think of things rationally and hopes that some day, perhaps he will lead the clan. For now, he upholds the code in great honour.
Relatives: Blueshine: Mother, deceased Cedarheart: Father, alive Blizzardpaw: brother, deceased Skypaw: brother, deceased RP Sample: “Ouch! Blizzardkit, get off!” The nursery was bursting with excitement. Blizzardkit, Skykit and Fadedkit were going to be apprenticed. The three of them were rolling around the nursery, squashing the other two kits, Thistlekit and Ravenkit into the dust. Blueshine entered the nursery. “Okay kits, enough tumbling around the den! Come on out so I can make you all look your best for the ceremony!”
Instantly, the three kits bounded towards their mother. Blueshine began to groom Blizzardkit, while the other two kits sat silently awaiting their turn. Inside the nursery, Ravenkit and Thistlekit squealed with joy at their littermates. “We’ll be apprentices soon so make sure you guys make both of us some beds!” called Thistlekit. “Sure thing!” replied Skykit. “Will all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here for a clan meeting!” The commanding voice of the Thunderclan leader immediately summoned all the able-bodied warriors to the tree stump. Blizzardkit, Fadedkit, and Skykit raced towards the stump, their paws kicking up dirt. “Watch it kits!” “Hey, slow down!” “I just groomed my pelt!”
The three kits smiled sheepishly at the clan. The leader approached the kits. “Thunderclan today we celebrate an end to clan hardships with the introduction of three new apprentices.” He approached Blizzardkit. “From this day forward, until he has earned his warrior name, Blizzardkit will be known as Blizzardpaw.” “Blizzardpaw! Blizzardpaw!” yelled the clan. “Stoneclaw you have shown great loyalty and stunning courage. You will mentor Blizzardpaw.” The leader approached the other two kits. “From this day forward, until he has earned his warrior name, Fadedkit will be known as Fadedpaw. Dawnstripe, you are incredibly strong and agile. You will mentor Fadedpaw.” A wave of temptation and relief found itself spreading through Fadedpaw's body. He had gotten the mentor he had always wanted! Now he could be a great warrior!
Finally the leader approached Skypaw. “Until he has earned his warrior name, Skykit will be known as Skypaw! Crookedtail, you have shown compassion and great energy. You will mentor Skypaw.” “Fadedpaw! Skypaw! Fadedpaw! Skypaw!” the cheering roared through the ears of the apprentices. Slowly, the cats began to return to their duties, leaving the three apprentices to greet their new mentors. Fadedpaw ran towards Dawnstripe. “What are we going to learn today?” Dawnstripe smiled. “Our borders.” Fadeddpaw bounced with excitement. “Yes! Finally! Let’s go!” he ran towards the camp entrance, his eyes eager to see the forest.
