Name: Soaringpaw - SoaringkitAge: 6 moons Gender: She-cat Clan: WindClan Desired Rank: Apprentice Appearance: Soaringpaw has deep brown eyes that have a glimmering shimmer to them, roughly the color of a roasted walnut. Since she is so excitable her eyes are almost always wide and cheerful. Her coat is a brilliant white color with patches of ginger dashed here and there throughout her body. Most notably are the two parts that cover bother her ears and her tail which is entirely ginger. Laced within the ginger patcher are even darker red stripes. Her claws are shape, and have a cream coloring to them. Her build is on of short thick fur that is very easy for her to keep clean. Her muscle mass is light and lean, and she is very quick on her paws. Her tail is the thinnest part of her body, and her legs are very long compared to her frame. Personality: Cheerful Ever friendly, this she cat is always talking a mile a minute and loves to gossip. Its a treat for her to be able to share knowledge with her clan and she believes holding it all in is a terrible way to hold yourself back. Its very hard to get her in a bad mood, and even if something bad happens she usually will try to look on the bright side and carry on. Questioning She makes it her mission to ask questions about everything. She has such a wide respect for knowledge that she wants to know as much as she can. As a kit she would sit in front of the elders and her parents and just absorb there tales all day. Energetic As a kit she was also all over the place. In fact the clan would sighin relief if she was busy with stories, because she was always underpaw of the warriors if she wasn't. As an apprentice she is no different and if her prey aren't fast she quickly makes it a game of chase anyway preferring to use her speed. This often makes her hard to teach, which is why she needs a strong mentor. She's got a good heart and truly wants to be great for her clan, if she can ever settle down that is. History: Born on a chilly night in leafbare she was the two kits out of four that her mother had that survived. Her two brothers died and her and her sister were so thin and fragile that they were almost lost as well. It had been a particularily bad leafbare and Windclan was making due with a shortened stock of herbs. Her sister Daykit was a full ginger with red stripes like there father, and she while retaining some of his coloring also took on the white pelt of her mother. As kits her sister always wanted to explore and though Soaringkit didn't need the persuasion was mostly influenced by her sister in the troublemaking department. Whenever she wasn't doing that she listened to the elders enthralled in there stories. Her grandfather the father of her mother an old wily tom with one good eye and a pure white pelt named Shroudedsight was her main storyteller. He was a very sickly tom with a muscle condition that had him rarely leaving his nest. He had retired the night she was kitted, and since his disease had worsened. She still visits him even though she is an apprentice and often tells him her own stories now, though she envies his great tales. Relatives: Sheerstep - mother Rabbitfur - father Shroudedsight - grandfather Thrushfur - Grandmother - dead Daypaw - alive 6 moons Stillborns 2 - dead RP Sample: not needed Other: Other Cats:

_____________________ Sweeping his clear steady gaze over the camp, Hailstar watched with a quiet pride as his warriors moved about, doing the tasks given. It had been peaceful in Riverclan lately, which was something he was keenly aware would not always last. Sighing to himself, he spotted something of interest and jumped down from his perch at the willow tree where he addressed the clan. The long haired silver cat made his way out of the camp after the some what hesitant looking tom he was currently apprenticing, Ripplepaw. The young cat had promise, and a good heart, but he needed to learn the most basic thing a Riverclanner was known for, Swimming. Hailstar could see the fear in the tom's eyes, and knew that in order to ensure that Ripplepaw be able to support the clan some day as a successful warrior he needed to learn it.
He had kept a careful and well eyed distance from Ripplepaw as he made his way down to the streams, it wasn't hard since his apprentice tended to keep his thoughts on where he was going and not what was going on around him. Something that while it wasn't a fault completely, would need to be addressed. Knowing when to leap from danger unexpectedly and keeping your ears alert was a good trait to master. He almost purred when another apprentice Mothpaw demonstrated the concern for needing to keep an eye on your surroundings to Ripplepaw the hard way when she sat near him and startled him.
Hailstar laughed seeing Ripplepaw miss his footing and go floundering straight into the water of the stream. His apprentice made a great fuss over landing in the water, splashing about awkwardly like he was about to drown. Apparently Mothpaw found it funny as well, for she tried to hide her snickering and then was about to leave at the retort from Ripplepaw. Hailstar silently praised his apprentice for asking for help from Mothpaw, but Hailstar had seen enough, and was about to get involved in the training of the two youngsters. Mothpaw's technique though much better then Ripplepaw's could use more fine tunning and Ripplepaw would need loads of encouragement from his new friend.
Leaping over the bank he had been sitting on he raced down to the water's edge, his muscles shimmering under his puffy coat. " Still not going well Ripplepaw? Mothpaw good of you to speak up, though sadly its to snicker at your clanmate, perhaps you had both better work together hmm. Never forget you both will grow up together, and your both Riverclan, you need to learn to work as a team. Ripplepaw enter slowly so that your in the shallows first then start paddling and lift your front paws off the banks to start. Once you feel confident strike out with your back paws and keep the movement going. Mothpaw lets see your diving." He sat not needing to repeat himself, he stood ready to dive in and help if needed.

_____________________ His paws met mostly air as he swung them at Slatestar. He felt his fur glow with adreneline as he managed to nick his mentors ear. A small achievement, and not really anything to be proud of, but he wasn't looking so much to achieve as to figure out what was working and what he needed to change. Determining his faults would help him improve a great deal, he was aware that certain things would be habitual to him always. One such thing was his steadiness on his feet.
Before he could launch another move, the gray tom jumped arching over his head, nudging him before doing so with one of his much bigger paws. Tornpaw was thrown off balance and had to spread his front paws out to catch himself from falling and eating dirt. The tom landed with a thud and turned looking at him expectantly. Tornpaw felt his cheeks flush in embarrassment at having lost his footing yet again.
Slightly flustered from the anticipation of falling, his fur though short in length had fluffed up considerably, not hiding his shock from his mentors calculating eyes. This more than anything alerted him to the fact that he was still moons away from learning all the older tom had to teach him. It also made him proud that he had such a good teacher, nevermind that he was the leader, he didn't care for that so much as his ability to mold his skills.
Of course he let the compliment on his speed go right over his head, not taking the credit to heart. Tornpaw didn't want to dwell on that sort of thing, because more often then not when he did, he would mess up directly afterwards. He let his confidence get the better of him sometimes, and now he waited to see exactly what Slatestar would say. He guessed he should say something, to sort of bring to his attention that he knew he was making a mistake again. " Threw me off again, sorry Slatestar. I will watch for it next time."

Deathberries are an extremely poisonous species of red berries, and are known to Twolegs as yew berries. They almost killed Sorrelkit when Darkstripe fed them to her in The Darkest Hour, though luckily Cinderpelt was able to save her. The Tribe calls them Night Seeds, when they are used in a plan to kill the mountain lion, Sharptooth, in the book Moonrise. Deathberries were used to tempt the snake that killed Honeyfern in Sunrise. They were also used by Hollyleaf to threaten Leafpool.
Foxglove Seeds Foxglove seeds are known to be a dangerous medicine. While they can help the heart, they can easily cause paralysis and heart failure. They are often mistaken for poppy seeds. Mentioned when Yellowfang says to Cinderpelt, "You're a dangerous medicine cat! You could kill a cat by confusing foxglove seeds and poppy seeds!"
Holly Berries Holly berries, while not as dangerous as deathberries, are still a danger to kits. They make an appearance in Twilight; after Leafpool talks to Crowfeather, Sorreltail finds her hiding in a holly bush. Leafpool says she is looking for berries and Sorreltail asks, "Aren't they poisonous?"
Nightshade Mentioned when Fireheart and Cinderpaw are with Cloudkit. Cloudkit almost eats some deathberries (see below), but is quickly stopped by Cinderpaw. When Cloudkit runs off and calls them to see what he found, she jokes in response that "Maybe it's deadly nightshade this time." Nightshade is extremely toxic to cats and Twolegs, being capable of killing a full-grown human in under forty-five minutes.

Tornpaw
Eager paws danced across the forest floor brimming with energy as the young tabby tom raced to the Ancient Oak following behind his mentor Slatestar. The sun was setting, and its colors lit up the leaves and surrounding foliage casting shadows of reds and purples to illuminate the ground. Vibrant green eyes took in this picture with gusto, not wanting to miss a single detail of the beauty surrounding him. It amused him so much, that he nearly stumbled over a root sticking curling up off the ground slightly. Sliding to an abrupt hault, he blinked at the root and skirted around it, giving it a look like it was its fault for being in his way.
Kicking up dirt and twigs he hurried on having been momentarily distracted and scolding himself for not watching where he was going. Slatestar was further ahead of him now, his blue gray pelt trotting up ahead. When they reached the Oak tree, he waited ready to jump out of his fur in anticipation of the training session. Would they be hunting, or climbing perhaps? Either way his eyes focused on his leader, and grinned when battle training was brought up as the focus of the session.
Slatestar gave him a quick mentioning of what they were doing then wasted no time in leaping in the air towards Tornpaw. Not caught off guard Tornpaw leaned back on his haunches and put his two front paws in the air ready to batter his mentor as he headed for him. He did not expect Slatestar to veer off to the side and gave a noted look of alarm when he saw too late that Slatestar had avoided his counter instead landing on the side of him and striking for him.
He felt a jab hit his flank, and though claws were sheathed it didn't make the blow itself less stinging. A reminder for him to pay closer attention. Bringing his two paws back down he rounded on Slatestar and in an arching motion aimed a swipe of his own with his left forepaw at his head hoping to land a blow himself. Being the apprentice of the leader, had so far kept him on his toes, and he had a feeling that this training wasn't going to be lax at all.
